Yes it is! Been a long time in the process, but she's coming along!

Final build getting really close :)

So this bike was actually my buddies bike that I was doing the conversion on, and the forks were bone stock. But, I did ride this bike and the front end had a lot of room to improve. I've seen a lot of people do the newer front end swap on the CR's and they love it. I believe the newer Hondas have a bit more of a rake that really helps with handling

@@ChaseBuiltBikes yeah the 00-01 cr125’s are regarded to having jack hammer front ends that even the racing teams had a hard time with. Saw the decals on the forks and thought they’d been done, or possibly it was a swap. Might have to look into a swap, since it could be cheaper/more effective than revalved/rebuilt forks. Thanks for the response!

I've been using the box daily from before this video, till now. I honestly have no issues with the box. I can't say anything on the locks, since I don't lock the box daily since it's my home box, so I don't know how those hold up. Other than that, the box is great. I think it's worth the $1700.

@@Motocue912 I absolutely love the late 80's CR's. It definitely takes a long time to do a restoration or a build, but in the end I think all the time was well worth it

@@ChaseBuiltBikes it was a 97 I put that down wrong but I grew up racing 80s and 125 in the 1980s … my buddy Tommy O he loves restoring those old Yamaha 100cc he’s vintage raced all of them… it’s just too old for me. I can’t get my ass on one of those. Lol !!!!

@@Motocue912 Wait hold on, I know Tommy O! (#32) I met him while I was racing the vintage series on my 88 CR250. I have to think we are talking about the same guy, if that's so, that's awesome! But that sounds just like the Tommy I know. Those older guy on the older bikes really know how to show the young guys how to ride 😂 there was some guys 65+ hucking jumps I would even consider lol

Pull the cylinder back off, hone, install new piston

I ended up selling the 250f, got the bike running good and took it to the track a couple times, had great power, I ended up selling it because Im a two stroke guy at heart, and really wanted to get back on the two strokes!

@@ChaseBuiltBikes Nah that's awesome. I was going to get a 07 a few days ago. But bailed cause The whole engine eneded up being toast. Just looking for a project 4 stroke.

@@bike0662 that's what scary about building or getting a project 4 stroke is the cost of a rebuild. Honestly the 09 I had was a great bike to build, and I think the 07 would be too. That 09 was seriously impressive to me

I’m absolutely planning on running a chain and brakes before my first starts, never had one wide open on the first start before 😂 I ran a continuity test on the kill switch today, and it’s unfortunately bad so I’m getting a replacement sent to me so I can kill it the easy way. And it absolutely happens, working on old and new bikes can be tricky because things can be so different and it’s easy to get tripped up like that

The mounts come with the Tx race kit, which comes with plastics, the mounts, and the bolts

I’m in Illinois, if you’ve got fuel, spark, and compression, make sure you’re getting sufficient air, that the air filter isn’t plugged solid or the intake isn’t blocked, after that, I would try spraying some starting fluid into the intake and see if it starts, if it does you have a carb issue, or a fuel issue. After that I would check the timing and see what your compression numbers are, and also check your valve clearance

Unfortunately, I had to get rid of the 250f. After riding the bike, I ended up just wanting a 2 stroke again. I liked the bike a lot, but I’m a die hard two stroke fan!

If you’ve just got a carb issue, no big deal! But I would double check and make sure the compression is good and go from there. These bikes have some head and cam issues, but make sure to check for cracks or holes in the cases, and that the engine turns over free. Other than that you may have bearings and bushings that need replaced in the suspension and frame, but that’s normal stuff there. Best of luck with the new bike!
